Dream Sanctuary is on Hold
Dionysophy is on track
In the last week of 2024, I unveiled a new direction for Dream Sanctuary with some urgency. This new project, named Dionysophy, has since taken all my time and attention, leaving none for Dream Sanctuary.
I am more than self-aware that I have made some ambitious claims about what Dionysophy aims to be.
As I write these lines (April 2025), three months have passed and I have released seven presentations: four episodes of Living Symbols (available to the public) and three only available to members of Dionysophy.
So far, the scope of the material I have presented has met my own scepticism about whether such a project is even viable. Both Living Symbols and Dionysophy have tackled deep topics in a practical manner while remaining true to the methodology of analytical psychology.
A short review of the four episodes of Living Symbols:
- The first episode was about a remarkable dream and what effort is asked from the ego by the unconscious. (link)
- The second episode shows that movies can be approached as dreams, with both a personalistic and collective dimension. (link)
- The third and fourth episodes have discussed a possible reconciliation of The Great Father and the Great Mother coming from our Christian heritage. (link for The Great Father, link for The Great Mother)
Living Symbols homepage
If Living Symbols is about teaching a kind of literacy about symbols, Dionysophy focuses on the larger problem of laying foundations for a religious praxis, something that can bear existentially a relationship between the ego and the unconscious as a transcendental but experiencable horizon. It is about how to live when one is constantly destabilised or interrupted by the unconscious, as if surrounded by a greater phenomenon than ego-consciousness.
At the end of each month, I introduce the most recent development of Dionysophy:
- In January, I presented the ethics of Dionysophy, five guiding principles when dealing with the unconscious. I also discussed the idea of symbols being personal totems.
- In February, after a summary of Goethe’s Faust, I proposed the Goethean as a solution to the problem of the Faustian.
- In March, I demonstrated a new concept, the Symbolic River of Life, or how the symbols that accompany us through the years anticipate the life-task.

In this way, the four years that I have spent on Dream Sanctuary have served as the fertile soil from which Dionysophy is now able to grow. Despite the flaws of my way of writing and presenting, I am proud of what is on this website. It promotes an approach to the psyche that feels fresh and is full of vitality. And I want to keep it open to the public for as long as possible.
The services I provide on this website remain open, but this might change at any time in the future.
In the meantime, this website is on hold. I doubt I will publish anything new here. You are thus invited over to Dionysophy for new content:

Finally, I would like to thank anyone who has taken the time to read my articles or watch my videos. Anything related to depth psychology is a struggle to communicate. For this reason, I have never really thought of this website as building an audience, rather I have been writing for a few individuals whose vocation it is to deal with the unconscious. In this way, I hope that I have been able to get across the essence of what I have been writing about, rather than the specifics.
And with that, Dream Sanctuary is now officially on hold. So that Dionysophy can be at full speed.
